Founded
in the 12th century on the banks of the Authie River by the monks of
the Citeaux order, the abbey was rebuilt in the 18th century. Its imposing
architecture is complemented by the splendours of its varied gardens
studded with over 5,000 varieties of plants and shrubs. This year a
section of medicinal plants classified by therapeutical use has been
inaugurated with the support of Yves Rocher Botanical Garden.
