A small manor garden, reconstructed according to a description from archives, within the walls of a fortified 12th century farm, featuring a mixture of aromatics, simples and condiments planted around the seigniorial dwelling, in a checker-board arrangement An intimate courtyard, protected from onlookers and the Beauce plains winds by means of finely-wrought vine arbours and espalier wickers, shelters a Hortus vegetable garden and courty flowers. Its hornbeam cloister leading from the chamber of love to the chamber of meditation reminds the visitor that the Bois Richeux garden, more than a plant conservatory, is a spiritual pathway into medieval symbolics.
