JARDIN
DES PLANTES TECHNIQUES DE CHAUVIGNY
86300
Chauvigny
From
the feudal period Chauvigny has preserved its five fortified castles.
Perched atop rocky outcrops, they monitor the Poitiers-Lyons axis. In
the heart of the medieval town, next to Saint Pierre collegiate church,
the space for Industrial Archeology and the Museum of Folk Traditions
highlight the ethnological aspects and industrial traditions of the
region of Chauvigny. Witnesses of the past, these plants used for technical
and dyeing purposes decorate a small garden along the walls of the museum
which tells the story of their use during the Middle Ages.
